Brushy gears up for Chase Rice concert

Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary in Petros will be rocking tomorrow night as Chase Rice will kick off the 2020 concert series at the facility.

Gates open at 6 p.m. And Rice, who is known for hit country songs like Eyes on You and Gonna Wanna Tonight, will take the stage at 8 p.m.

“We are very excited,” Brushy Mountain General Manager Michelle Johnson said. “We still have some tickets to be sold. We have sold several tickets and we are looking forward to everyone coming out and spending time with us.”

Johnson adds that Brushy is taking precautions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“All employees will be wearing masks and gloves” she said. “We are checking temperatures when people enter the gate and everyone is getting a free bottle of sanitizer. Plus our area seats 10,000 people and we’re only allowing 4,000 so there is plenty of room for people to spread out.”

Prison tours will still take place Saturday until 4 p.m. and the Warden’s Table restaurant will be open. Also, there will be a fireworks display after the concert.

Tickets are $45 each and can be purchased at or at the gate.
